I am a wife of 20 years, mother of two, health enthusiast, adventurist, retired military spouse & daughter of Peace. I have experience as a mental health professional working within the VA system (combat Veterans), county behavioral health (adults), community health (children - older adults), inpatient A/D treatment (adults), inpatient crises stabilization (adults), school-based (5-18yrs), preschool-based (2-6yrs), faith-based non-profit (children & older adults) and group practice (children - older adults). I currently provide individual, family and group counseling for children, teens, adults and older adults who are experiencing a variety of challenges that interfere with daily life.
I operate from evidence-based practice, research, practice wisdom and personal experience and deliver methods from art, early childhood education, integrative medicine & nutrition, psychology and social work. My therapeutic beliefs are relationally-centered with respect, compassion and involve Person-in-environment, Strengths-Based and Relational-Cultural approaches. My therapeutic interventions are within the best interest of my clients and may include the following: Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Applied Behavior Analyst (ABA) evidence-based 'approaches', Therapeutic Art Expression, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Love & Logic, Mindfulness & Somatic Awareness, Motivational Interviewing, Nutritional Integration, Positive Parenting, Play Therapy, Prolonged Exposure & Cognitive Processing Therapy, Psycho-education and Solution-Focused Therapy.
I’m passionate about teaching from a holistic perspective that includes focusing on the whole person and includes aspects such as how current and childhood environments, health, education, occupation relationships and spirituality effect the behavioral, social and psychological aspect of individual lives.
I rally my clients in self-determination to promote, restore and enhance positive experiences. I partner with my clients to unleash their possibilities, purpose and greatness. Come, rest awhile. Take a breath. Refresh the soul. I’ll meet you where you’re at and journey with you. Call me!
